FAQ
Common questions
Can you pour a slab under an existing pergola or roof?
Usually, yes. Access and height under the roof affect how the job is done, so mention it when you ask for an estimate.
Which finish is best for an outdoor area?
Exposed aggregate has natural grip and hides wear well. Coloured concrete can tie the area in with your home. We can talk through what suits your space.
Will water drain off the slab?
It should. Outdoor slabs are laid with a gentle fall away from the house so rain runs off rather than pooling.
Do I need a permit?
A concrete slab on its own usually doesn't, but a roof or pergola over it might. Check with your council or a building surveyor if you're adding one.
